The City of Refuge Internship and Practicum program offers students from ministries, Bible schools, and universities the opportunity to practice their field of study in a controlled and supervised environment. Due to the diverse nature of the populations served by the foundation, students have a unique opportunity to work with populations that would otherwise be difficult to have direct access to.
This program is designed for local and international students interested in working with programs that serve vulnerable populations. Interested individuals must have prior volunteer experience and a basic level of Spanish is required.
Internship opportunities range from 6 months to 2 years. Interested individuals can submit a cover letter, resume, and pastoral recommendation letter to the foundation as a first step in the process.
Internships range from 6 months to 1 year. Qualifying professions include (but are not limited to): social work, psychology, business administration, teaching, cooking, and accounting. In this case, the first step in the application process is to send a cover letter from the participating university, the student’s resume, and a letter of recommendation from a professor involved in the student’s training.
