The Ciudad Refugio Practicums program provides professional students from local and international universities an opportunity to practice their field of study in a controlled, supervised environment. Due to the diverse nature of the populations served by the foundation students have unique opportunity to work hands on with populations that would be otherwise difficult to access.

This program is designed for both local and international students interested in working with programs serving amongst vulnerable populations. Interested individuals should have previous volunteer experience and a basic level of Spanish is required.

Professional practicums range from 6 months to 1 year. Qualifying professions include (but are not limited to): social work, psychology, business administration, teaching, culinary, accounting.

If you are interested. A cover letter from the participating university, resume and letter of recommendation from an involved professor may be sent to the foundation as the first step in the process.
